Tennessee Lands a Key Piece for Their 2026 Recruiting Class: Will Rajecki is a Vol!
It's National Signing Day, and the Tennessee Volunteers are celebrating a significant addition to their 2026 recruiting class. Will Rajecki, a highly-rated three-star running back from Canton, Georgia's Sequoyah High School, has officially announced his commitment to Tennessee. This is a big moment for the Vols, especially considering they didn't sign a running back during the initial December signing period.
But here's where it gets interesting: Rajecki wasn't always set on Tennessee. He was previously committed to Memphis, having joined their recruiting class over the summer. However, he decided to re-open his recruitment in December. Since then, he's been a hot commodity, attracting attention from a number of prominent programs, including Arkansas, Southern Miss, Oregon State, Missouri, and Georgia.
Ultimately, Rajecki chose to join Josh Heupel's squad, bolstering a Tennessee recruiting class that is already ranked among the nation's top 10. This commitment signifies a strong finish for the Vols in securing talent for the future.
A Star on the Field, Honored Off It
Rajecki's senior season was nothing short of spectacular. He was recognized as a Navy All-American, an honor that places him among the country's elite high school football players. While he couldn't participate in the practices or games for the All-American event, the selection itself is a testament to his talent. This honor was a direct result of his incredible performance in the 2025 season. He was a workhorse for Sequoyah, rushing for an astounding 1,970 yards and scoring 30 touchdowns on 274 carries. That's an impressive average of 7.2 yards per carry!
And this is the part most people miss: Rajecki wasn't just a ground threat. He also proved to be a valuable asset in the passing game, hauling in 26 catches for 357 yards and adding two more touchdowns. His contributions were instrumental in leading Sequoyah to an impressive 11-2 record. Over his four years on the varsity team, Rajecki amassed over 5,900 all-purpose yards and scored a remarkable 69 touchdowns, solidifying his status as one of Georgia's premier running backs.
Tennessee's 2026 Class: Building Depth and Talent
Rajecki's commitment adds significant firepower to Tennessee's 2026 class. He joins offensive lineman Jeremy George-El, who committed last month. In total, the Vols have 27 other signees who inked their commitments back in December. The absence of a running back in that initial group made Rajecki's pledge even more crucial, as he is now their sole running back signee for this cycle.
The Vols have also secured some serious talent at other positions. They've landed a dynamic duo in five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys. Beyond these headliners, Tennessee has also brought in five other top-100 recruits and a total of 14 blue-chip prospects. The defensive front seven was a major focus, with the coaching staff signing 10 players across the defensive line, edge rusher, and linebacker positions. On the offensive side, they've added bookend four-star offensive tackles Gabriel Osenda and Kamari Blair, along with another promising wide receiver in four-star Tyreek King.
