The bike responded exactly as I wanted it to, stopping smoothly without any pushback. I have to give credit to Ducati for their efforts in addressing this issue."
While Bagnaia acknowledges that it's still early days and conclusions cannot be drawn, his performance so far has been impressive. He finished eighth on the timesheets on Wednesday, despite carrying a heavy fuel load. This result, combined with his positive feedback, suggests that Bagnaia is on the right track.
On Tuesday, Bagnaia evaluated a new fairing, comparing its behavior on both worn and fresh tires. His teammate, Marc Marquez, took over the aero work on Wednesday, but Bagnaia will continue testing new components on the final day of the Sepang test.
With an extra set of soft tires saved for low-fuel performance and the possibility of a race simulation, Bagnaia is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation. However, he remains cautious, emphasizing that the most crucial improvement has been in braking.
"It's not surprising that braking has been a focus for me, as it was a weak point last year. I felt an immediate improvement in that area, and it's something I'm confident we can build on."
